"I love to watch you play"

Xander loved just playing city league this year and so did we!! It was still 5 nights a week (betw 3 kiddos)not including practices, but so great to be at cico, 2 min away!
He loved catching this year and we were blessed with a pretty nice June and July so the equipment didn't get too hot.

Xander pitching while Monroe's team was playing on Pluto field behind them:)

I had to miss several of Jude's t-ball games b/c I would have to go with one of the other 2 that were playing. He had some great kids on his team, hope we get a few of them next year, although I would prefer not to be the Cardinals.

Love the tongue, and love the kids on 3rd that are paying no attention to Jude hitting, this is T Ball:)

I didn't get many pictures of softball, but got some footage. The tournament got a little tense and we ended up playing extra innings and losing by one. It was rough, the umpires were more rough, so if anyone knows anyone who knows anything about softball (or at least where the baseline is) , they can get paid 15.00/hr, that is great money!

(Jeryka with a teary eyed Roe after the loss)
Jeryka got to sit with me and see how excited I get, think she is thankful she doesn't have to sit with me at gymnastics meets, not that I sit.

Shan took the girls to watch the championship, I love that they can still be good sports about it, even if there parents aren't;)
Shannon also sent me this article, hence my blog title,  and I had to share b/c it is such a great reminder what you shouldn't say to your kids, not sure why she sent it to me??

It's a wrap

We finished our 5 week bible study, Im not sure who will be more sad me or my kiddos, looking for another, any suggestions?? I love that I have friends that love to seek God in our messy, crazy lives. Missed you in our pic Gail:(

and this is just some of our kids, yikes!
I would highly recommend this beautiful DVD study, Ann Voskamp is one striking woman with a great story and heart for God, makes me want to move to a farm and learn to make bread. Several messages that spoke to me throughout the study,
* fear keeps life small
*stress brings no joy, choosing stress is practicing atheism
* danger of a hurries life, invitation to slow down and live fully in the moment
YES, this study was written for me, thank you for sharing with me friends, xoxo

on a Pontoon

Eddie took us out on his pontoon boat Sunday evening, it was so fun, finally a boat big enough for the whole family.
Mason can compete with Roe in the tumbling department
such the awkward family photo, unplanned!

 more awkward family photos

 love this big smile
Cole & Mason surfing the tube, my phone can't zoom
Roe & Kenzie's turn, its getting dark!
protective eyewear is good when water sprays in your face and maybe even firework pieces that land on your face.

and these two are planning on going to college together, that should be interesting, when they get together its pure silliness. Oh and my volume on my phone doesn't work either, thats probably good.

Fun Friday

I was supposed to work on Friday and got put on low census, woohoo!! I love unexpected days off and we took full advantage. We picked up some Planet Sub and Varsity donuts for lunch (yes, nice & healthy;) and met Trav at the Discovery Center
water park picnic area.
Not sure why we have never been there, but the kids loved it and I didn't have to worry about the slippery splash park that is usually overcrowded at city.

There were only a few other kids in the water also suited up, I assume it is legal? The only sign posted was "use park with caution", not thinking we necessarily did this.

I love being able to go places that can entertain 2 to 11 year olds, we will go back soon!

a real BLAST!

We had great intentions of taking the kids to a Royals game with friends on the 4th, that started to sound like way too much work with this guy, so we decided to stay home.
Some friends invited us up to the club, it was just like old times, lets just say we could have done without the supersize pixie stix!
We had a synchronized diving event
Schmitts have a new member of the family, Titan!

My kids love everything about the smoke bomb, smell, no noise & fun colors!

Went on a spontaneous dinner date with Schmitts to Colbert's, it was a gorgeous evening on the patio

the kids love the putting range and the grownups like the entertainment

They offered up free trolley rides to the Cico fireworks and we were the only riders!

Honkey Tonk

Our friends had some extra VIP stampede tickets for Friday stampede, gorgeous weather & a great time
Jake Owen was my favorite of the weekend, he could use a haircut & a different outfit, but he was Matthew Mcconaughey turned country, a great entertainer

my husband was a little excited to say the least, we are easily entertained:)
We had a girls night Sunday night for Miranda Lambert, again gorgeous weather & fun times
Crystal & I kept walking up to the stage to "take pictures" when we thought Blake was going to come out, a little disappointed he never did;)

a little Rocky

This is a pretty fun group, lets just say "Rockies" is a great name for our team, because our games have been a little rocky. We do have some cute coaches both dads and girls, and are they having a lot of fun when not being yelled at by the moms.  It is not about the winning right??
Roe has had a different season this year, we were ready to be done after last year, but kid pitch has been much better than machine for her. She would pitch every inning if she could and can pitch a pretty nice & slow meatball. Thank you JP for the always awesome photos.
