4 yr old fun

Thanks to Mrs.Beach who has gone private, I had another great activity to do with my kids. So we got some muslin, picked some flowers and hammered away with wax paper. Turns out, this turns out to be a perfect cover for a sketchbook. The girls had a great time with this one Pamelabean!

Old video of old man

Its that time of year again, time to bring out the old man, a tradition the Lund family always had, and I attempt to keep alive. I was reviewing old video tapeage (is this a word?), from 3yrs ago and I want my baby back! Stay tuned for this yrs old man.

Night cap

was all monroe was wearing when Trav went in to read to her tonight. She makes me laugh and cry, mostly laugh. She also told me today, "Well thats a tasty idea", the idea had nothing to do with food either??

Inspired

With my new apron, compliments of sass & frass, I think I've been inspired to cook!

Instead of...

Doing laundry, picking up my house, cleaning my house, going to the grocery store

I used the twilight setting on my camera for the first time, went to dinner with kids and friends, then got called into work. Much more rewarding.

Dr.Visit

I took Jude in for a late 15month, early 18month dr.visit today, and was talking with his Dr.about how he amazes me with his vocabulary but that he just started walking a month ago. After his assessment, Dr.Rose states, "Yeah he has always done things a bit backwards hasn't he?" And then goes on to point out, "He looks like a duck when he walks." Okay, so perhaps love is blind and this is why I hadn't noticed earlier but OMG he totally walks like a DUCK, I may have to change the halloween costume.

Mr.affectionate

Jude has become a bit dangerous with his throwing habit lately and will chuck anything and everything that he can get a hold of. He also loves to swing bats and golf clubs at people, his most popular victim, Zeus. In attempt to keep things positive, he has his tender side too and loves to kiss and tickle.

Bye bye Maxi, hello Mini

After 10 yrs of driving his maxima, (the odometer stopped at 100k 6yrs ago) my hubby is stepping it up to a rockin mini van. What is he thinking? Practical & spacious. What are the kids thinking? They are on a "mini" vacation with the drop down DVD player with wireless headphones, sunroof, automatic doors, it is an event to take it out. What am I thinking? That maybe my husband does want another baby! My dilemma, I have already lost it several times in the parking lot, every other person also must love a silver mini.

Gift from grandma Susie

While I was in Chicago over the weekend my mom insist she buy an American girl doll for Roe. Its an experience all in itself and I felt tremendous guilt walking around without Roe. Hairstylists, can you imagine telling someone you are a hairstylist for dolls, seriously. Jessie's comment was, "I do NOT want a girl". Boys are much more practical. We came home with Ms.Mia that Roe fell completely in love with her, thanks Grandma.

Monsoon .5 marathon

Jess had shirts made with "Team Lund" on the front and our nicknames and birth order on the back. Pictured from left, we got "Bully" aka Jess, "Wuf" aka me, "Big T little b" aka Tia, "Flange", aka Angie, and Dad.

and the winner is...

7 or 8 months ago I extended an invitation/challenge to my 3 sisters and my dad. What better way to celebrate his 60th birthday and retirement, than to run a half marathon in Chicago together. My dad and I participated in this race 4 years ago on Lake Shore Drive, it was gorgeous, flat with lots of music & entertainment along the way. Not really thinking all 3 of my sisters would accept the offer, seeing how none of them had even run a 5k (had you?), I was thrilled when they said yes. Little did I know after months of preparation, we would all be flying in to meet up with Hurricane Ike. I am so proud of my dad & sisters, I think I am still in shock that we all finished, in an absolute downpour. We arrived to the race with trashbags on and sloshed 13.1mi down the shore. This is not the race I remember 4 yrs ago, I can barely see with the rain hitting me in the face. Did I mention, my dad took off before mile 2, yes the almost 60yr old, ditched us. Rated top 10 in Runners World mag for best half marathon, not so much this year. Despite the elements, we had an amazing time and besides a bit of chafing, we all finished feeling pretty good. Did I ask who is in for next year, Im thinking for Angie's big 4-0?

Piercings

Do I dare let these glam girls go to preschool with their stick on nose piercings they gave themselves? Grayson's mom may never let her come back over. Nothing wrong with a little self expression, especially if their peel off.

Volcano

Im going to encourage Roe to do the volcano to get her frusterations out, this is what yoga kids instructs. Sounds easy enough, I will let you know how it works out.

Let the goodtimes roll

Roe started preschool today, I love these ladies, same teachers Xander had two years ago, they truly are the best! Im a bit nervous about Roe following in Xander's footsteps, I remember Ms.Hinkle telling me Xander was a "dream", can't wait to hear how she describes little ms.attitude.

Labor day

Jude's face eating ice cream is priceless, and yes ice cream came before pizza.

We are discussing the topic of "true rest" and the Sabbath in church that to me sounds pretty great. So after the service, headed to Salmans cabin, and on to boating. This was really the best to watch my kids tube for the first time, with the biggest permagrins, can't believe I have no photos for proof. And from the lake, we went in to Council Grove to get some DQ and walk on the river walk. It was pretty cute, Xander says, "this is really relaxing". Since when is a 6 year old concerned about relaxing? We then walked over to Pizza Hut to meet up with Trav's cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Say. I walked Jude around Pizza Hut so he could meet everyone in the joint since he doesn't sit in food establishments anymore, while I'm thinking this is true rest.
